Many Native American tribes have spoken of their relationships with Bigfoot-like creatures for hundreds of years.  They often associate the creatures with spiritual phenomena. In Oklahoma, Bigfoot sightings have increased and so has the research community.  Native Oklahoma Bigfoot Research Organization (NOBRO) is a research group that was founded by Troy Hudson a native American from southeastern Oklahoma.  It wasn’t till the 2000s that he realized just how much the native folklore he grew up hearing was consistent with the stories of Bigfoot today. How does Hudson (James, 2023) describe Bigfoot? He states, “the creature is flesh and blood, but they are also spirit.” Some tribes believe that Bigfoot is a savage, but there are no substantiated reports of aggression. If provoked Bigfoot may try to scare humans but that is the extent of their aggression (Harris, 2023).
